The questions we get most. If yours isn't here, write to [email protected].

Getting started

How do I get started?

When you open Pulso, you pick your country and the app suggests the language, the currency and how numbers and dates are written (you can change all of it later). Then you create your accounts (cash, banks, cards, loans) with today's real balance: that's your starting point.

If you have many, under Today › Get started you can download an Excel template, fill it in (by hand or with an AI assistant you trust; it includes instructions for it) and load it all at once.

Do I need to create an account or give my email?

No. Pulso has no accounts, usernames or passwords. You open it and use it.

Does Pulso connect to my bank?

No, and it will never ask for your bank password. You log your transactions or load the file you download from your online banking (see the next section).

Logging and importing

How do I log an expense or income?

On Today, tap “Expense” or “Income”, enter the amount and pick the category. Pulso remembers the account and category you used last time, so the amount is usually all you need. Attach a photo of the receipt if you like.

How do I log a card payment or a loan installment?

On Today, tap “Pay debt”, choose the card or loan and the account the money comes from. Pulso lowers what you owe and that account's balance at the same time. For loans with interest, it splits principal and interest.

How do I bring in my bank's transactions?

Download the transactions file in CSV format from your online banking. In Pulso, go to More › Data and backup › “Import bank transactions” or open the account, and choose the file (you can also open it with Pulso from your files or email).

Pulso recognizes the columns, shows you what's in the file, flags what you already logged and suggests a category. Nothing is recorded until you confirm, and you can undo it.

I have an account in another currency

When you create or edit the account, choose its currency and enter how much 1 unit of it is worth in your main currency. The account shows its balance in its own currency; net worth, totals and reports use your main one. A transfer between accounts in different currencies records both amounts: what left and what arrived.

Backup and new phone

How do I back up my data?

Turn on backup under More › Data and backup. On iPhone the copies go to your iCloud Drive and on Android to your Google Drive, always in your own account. You can also save a full backup as a ZIP file whenever you want: keep it somewhere safe, because it has no password.

I got a new phone. How do I get everything back?

Sign in on the new phone with the same Apple or Google account and install Pulso. When it opens empty, Pulso finds your backup and restores it with one tap. If you have a ZIP backup, open it with Pulso.

Subscription

How much does it cost?

The first 7 days are free. After that, USD 0.99 a month or USD 9.90 a year (twelve months for the price of ten). In your country, the store shows the price in your currency before you pay. Details are in the terms.

How do I cancel my subscription?

The store charges the subscription, so you cancel it there, at least 24 hours before it renews:

  • iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Pulso › Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Pulso › Cancel.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. Pulso switches to view-only: you can look at everything and export your data and reports, but you can't log new transactions. If you subscribe again, you pick up where you left off.

I already paid and Pulso asks me to pay again

This can happen after switching phones. Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you paid with and tap “Restore purchases” on Pulso's subscription screen.

Can I share my subscription with my family?

No. The subscription is individual: each person has their own.

How do I ask for a refund?

Charges and refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own rules. On iPhone, request it at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, from your Google Play order history. If you have trouble, write to us and we'll help.

Privacy and deletion

Who can see what I log?

Only you. Your data is stored on your phone and, if you turn on backup, in your own cloud. Pulso has no servers that receive it. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I protect Pulso with Face ID or my fingerprint?

It's on by default: Pulso asks for Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's passcode when it opens and when you return after a minute. You can change it under More › Lock.

How do I delete all my data?

Go to More › Data and backup › “Delete all data on this phone” (it asks you to confirm twice). Uninstalling the app also deletes it from the phone.

Backups in your cloud are not deleted automatically: remove them from iCloud Drive (on iPhone, Files app › iCloud Drive › Pulso) or from Google Drive. Since you have no Pulso account, there's nothing else to delete on our side.
